Pictures from the Green Schools Award ceremony in Kilkenny where Cullen School received their second Green Flag for Energy management. Keelin O’ Connor, Pauric Duddy, Linda O’Connor and Mrs Horan represented the school. Everyone enjoyed the ceremony and the refreshments that followed! Well done to all involved in the school.
The Tidy Towns Committee came to the school to plant a tree in the school grounds. This tree was sponsored by the ESB and donated to the school. This tree will be a focal point in remembrance of the 1916 rising in the years ahead.

The pupils practised the spiritual songs and listened to the classical pieces of music in the weeks before the concert. The pupils enjoyed the concert enormously and sang along with Michael Jackson’s song –Blame it on the Boogie. They accompanied Keith Hanley(Voice of Ireland winner) with great gusto during his performance.
On 25th February 2016 Sharon Scully visited the school and examined the pupils on the Energy Management project. She informed the children about the benefits of saving energy in our homes and the benefits to the environment of lowering our greenhouse gases.

The pupils wrote a project on Litter Awareness and Tidiness and appreciation of the environment in Cullen National School and its surrounding area. An environmental officer visited the school and surveyed the grounds for tidiness and litter. The school was awarded a certificate for Tidy School and presented with a cheque for €350.00.
