TENNIS LESSONS

The pupils have started their tennis lessons for this term.  Their coach Sinéad is building on the tennis skills they achieved last year.  The pupils are enjoying a wide range of fun games and improving their tennis skills to a higher level.  Great fun is enjoyed by all!

Golf Lessons

Pupils were thrilled to be starting golf lessons again.  They enjoyed learning many skills – hand eye co-ordination drills, proper grip of golf club, correct position of feet when striking a ball towards a target.  Great pleasure was enjoyed when they hit the target!  Some pupils are turning out to be enthusiastic golfers.

Hurling Blitz

Pupils from the school participated in a hurling blitz hosted by the Abbey C.B.S.in Tipperary town.  They played four matches during the day.  They thoroughly enjoyed the games and played their hearts out.  They were exhausted at the end of the day and it was a silent bus journey home!

Art Competition

Congratulations to Therese Ryan on winning the Junior Section of an Art Competition based on the musical The Pirates of Penzance.  The prize was a beautiful hamper sponsored by the Tipperary Musical Society.  Well done Therese!

Pupils participated in various competitions on Sunday in Lattin GAA Hall.  They partook in the ballad, solo singing, instrumental and quiz sections of Scór.  There was great success enjoyed by the students and most of them qualified to take part in the West Tipperary County Final on 4th March.  Well done to all our students! Springtime Blooms

Springtime has finally arrived to Cullen with the blossoming of spring bulbs and plants.  The pupils have enjoyed admiring and smelling the lovely hyacinths and colourful tulips.  At the front door they are enjoying looking at the colourful primroses.

One team represented the school in the annual Credit Union Quiz in Ballykisteen Hotel last night.  The boys enjoyed the night out, and the experience of taking part in a quiz with their classmates and pupils from the surrounding areas. .

Modern Dance Classes

Pupils from Junior infants to 5th class are being put through their paces – ‘Operation Transformation in Action’  They are learning various Latin moves to popular songs and getting aerobically fit in a ‘fun’ way.  Perhaps we will have a future contestant in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in the years ahead!
