On Monday 28th May 2nd-6th classes visited Kilmallock Water Treatment Plant. The Man in charge showed us what happens to the water when it comes in from the river before it goes out to our taps. We saw how he added ‘Poly’ to clump all the dirt together so it can be removed. Chlorine is added to kill bacteria and acid to bring the water to the correct PH level. It was an interesting visit. This is part of our Green School Water Flag.
